ADVICE

How to choose your shade of FOUNDATION

1 - Find out your skintone colour :

Cool : for skins with pink undertones and to enlighten grey/dull complexions.
Warm : for skins with yellow or peach undertones and to warm up grey/dull complexions.
Neutral : for skins with beige undertones, without pink or yellow dominant color and to tone down too reddish or sallowish complexions.

2 - Determine the tone of your complexion :

Pale : for pale skin, diaphanous.
Light: for light skin.
Medium: for medium skin, slightly tanned.

You will be surprised how easily our colours adjust to your particular complexion giving you great flexibility in correcting your skin tone : if you find your complexion a touch too red, then choose a golden or neutral colour to balance it. Contrariwise, if you find it too yellow, warm it up with a pink or neutral colour.

Don’t be scared to custom blend the shades to get the perfect match for your skin. We offer you sample size to help you test out the quality of our product and find the colours that best work for you. It’s a good way to get started !

Start by applying the mineral foundation under the cheekbone , along the jaw line, preferably in natural light. The shade of the powder should blend in with your complexion.

How to apply FOUNDATION

Mineral makeup will require new gestures from you ... it's only natural to feel a little awkward and clumsy at first. But these new gestures are simple, you’ll be mastering them in no time and they’ll help you put your makeup on far more quickly.
Prepare to be seduced !

It’s easy to over-apply mineral powder foundation when you are first working with it !

So follow our tips and advice for correct application :

1. On a clean skin, apply your daily moisturizer and wait for it to settle. Ideally, it is better to allow it time to be completely absorbed. For example you could plan to apply it before breakfast or getting dressed ...
2. Tap to dispense a small amount of foundation into the lid (or a bowl or the Palette).
3. Lightly dip your Kabuki or Flat Top brush into the powder. Collect only a small amount of product. Remember, a little goes a long way !
4. Swirl the brush inside the lid (or bowl) so that the powder is worked into the bristles and tap the brush on the edge of the lid to remove the excess.
5. With your brush, work your way in light circular movements from the sides of your face inwards.
6. Repeat process until you reach your desired coverage level.
We recommend starting with a thin layer and add layers as needed for a better control of coverage.

You will notice that minerals deepen after they warm to your skin, it takes a few minutes. So don’t worry if your complexion seems a little too pale after application, it’s normal !

How to apply MAGIC VEIL

The Magic Veil is a translucent multi-function powder which unifies and provides a matte or shiny finish to your complexion.

As a base : As a primer, before foundation and concealer, the Magic Veil will unify the surface of the skin and facilitate an homogeneous application of the foundation.
As finishing veil : After your foundation, the Magic Veil will provide a matte or shiny finish to your complexion.
Alone : For a natural and luminous complexion, the Magic Veil will simply unify your complexion, very slightly.

Use the Kabuki or Flat Top brush and follow our tips and advice for correct application :
1. Tap to dispense a small amount of powder into the lid (or in a bowl or the Palette).
2. Lightly dip your Kabuki or Flat Top brush into the powder. Collect only a small amount of product. Remember, a little goes a long way !
3. Swirl the brush inside the lid (or bowl) so that the powder is worked into the bristles and tap the brush on the edge of the lid to remove the excess.
4. With your brush, work your way in light circular movements from the sides of your face inwards.
5. You can also use it for touch-ups during the day.

How to apply CONCEALER

Concealer is a very opaque powder to target blemishes, dark circles and other imperfections. Apply it before FOUNDATION.

Use a soft brush (Mini-Kabuki, Shadow or Dome brush) and load a little amount of concealer on the lid.
Place the concealer in the inner-corner of the eyelid at the base of the nose to highlight this often darker area of your face. It will give your look a fresh touch. Now, be sure to blend well into the corner of the eyelid in an outward movement going up to the base of the eyebrow, and down to the inside of the « circle » under the eye.
Then apply concealer on the whole under-eye zone, diffusing the powder to create a halo effect around the eye. Apply a touch of concealer at the base of the nostrils, often one of the reddish areas of the face.
Apply to conceal all the imperfections of the face. It is better to build up layers, working with one light coat at a time until you get the perfect camouflage !

How to apply BLUSH

The Angle Bkush brush is specially designed to facilitate application.
Load a very small amount of powder, and lightly swirl on apple of cheeks in an outward circular motion.
Ideally, to get maximum highlight, we recommend using a lighter shade on the apple of your cheeks, and a darker one on the hollows of your cheek to sculpt the face and add dimension to it.
If you look tired, apply mineral blush near the eyes for a stronger bloom of colour.
To balance out a large face, choose to apply blush in the middle of the cheeks.
On the other hand, if you have a narrow face blend it outward.

We recommend starting with a thin layer and add layers as needed for a better control of intensity.

How to apply BRONZER

We recommend using the Angle Blush brush and pick up just a little amount of powder.
Bronzer should always be applied very lightly, sweeping facial features (nose, cheekbones, upper forehead, chin) to give them a sun-kissed look.

We recommend starting with a thin layer and add layers as needed for a better control of intensity.

How to apply EYESHADOW

Eyeshadow mineral powders are far more concentrated in pigments than traditional shadows.
Use the Shadow brush.
Load a very tiny amount of powder onto the brush and apply on eyelid by gently patting the powder on.
Don’t wipe it (like traditional shadows) but press it on like you want to blend the powder on your skin.
It is usually recommended to apply a light colour on the inside of the eye lid and on the brow bone, then go darker : a medium shade on the mobile eyelid, a dark shade on the outer corner of the eye to enlarge eyes and add dimension to your look.

Eyeshadows can also be applied with a slightly wet brush (with water or aloe vera gel) for a more intense color and more resistant.

How to apply EYELINER

Use the Angle Liner brush.

For a natural lining effect, apply liner dry, before your eye shadow, near the lash line on the outer rim of the lid. Then apply the eyeshadow to soften the intensity of the line.

For a smudgy smoky look apply eyeliner dry after eye shadow.

For a more structured effect, a more intense look, apply it wet. Ideally, you should wet the brush with aloe vera gel (or water) and mix it with the powder eyeliner.

How to care for your brushes

Keeping your makeup brushes clean and fresh is very important to maintain good makeup hygiene.

Start by getting the brush well wet in a drizzle of warm water. Try to get just the hair bundle wet. If you get water inside of the ferrule, it may cause damage to the handle or loosen the glue that holds the brush together.
Soak the bristles in shampoo and swirl the brush around in the palm of your hand, a bowl or the Wash basin wall.
If the water becomes very « dirty », rinse and repeat until the water runs clear. Always rinse the bristles thouroughly in warm water, keeping the brush head down.
Gently squeeze the hairs while reshaping them, and leave to air dry, hairs pointing down (thanks to the brush Guards).
